]]>Paige & Dan's wedding was so much fun! Everyone there was just ready to have a good time and that's because Paige & Dan always have a good time! They were both so excited and happy all day and it made for a smooth running, happy day with lots of emotions. Thank you Paige & Dan for letting me follow you around all day and document your love!
They chose to do a "first meet" which is always excited! Ali and I can't rave enough about first meets!
Their wedding was at the gorgeous Hacienda in Santa Ana. We're just a bike ride away so we'll always be down to shoot there!
Besides taking the time for this picture I don't think Paige and her friends stopped dancing until they got the boot. The dance floor was off the hook and I don't think anyone passed on getting in on the action!
Grandma even got in on the action!
I, Blake, love cars. Not just like, "oh I'm a Chevy guy" or "my dream car is the *insert most recent Italian supercar*" No, I just love all cars from American muscle to Japanese tuners to lowriders to rustbucket hotrods to French art deco cars to German autobahn burners and everything in between. Ali has learned that if we're driving and I happen to completely space out that means that I've been starring at a car and I have no idea what she was talking about... I can't help it.
Anyways... here's some pictures taken from a couple of shows I went to recently. The first up is from the Dana Point Concours d'Elegance. I only took 3D pictures so go get your glasses on (the benefits of having us do a 3D photo shoot of you is that you get some glasses that make these easy to view)!!! If you don't have the glasses just sit about 2 1/2 feet away from the screen and cross your eyes.

The other show was the VW Classic in Irvine. It's a great show at a horrible venue. It should be at huge park or something. Back to cars... I love classic VWs they have such a funky style to them. There were so many different models and variants that never made it to the States so it's always fun to see those.
Honestly... I would be willing to sell our house in order to have the car below. I told Ali that we could just live in the bed since it has a canopy that covers it... she didn't seem so thrilled. But seriously... is this not rad!?
This car was SUPER cool! I'll save you the history lesson but it is called the Tatra T97 and it was being developed at the same time as the VW Beetle in the 30's. Hitler put a stop to it because he wanted the Beetle to be "the people's car". I guess the designer sued VW in the 60s for design patent infringement and actually won.
An example of a car that never "officially" made it state-side. It was specifically designed as a delivery truck! I guess there is only about 10 currently in the US and three of them were at this show.
Now... Ali could get behind selling our house and living in this car/camper/whatever you want to call it. This could have easily been a hack job but it was really clean!
VWs do patina better than anything else! I love the attitude that these cars have.
And lastly... a picture of my car :) It's a 67 VW Squareback. It was hard to go from my previous car to this but honestly I can't imagine going back. It's so fun to cruise around in it and since it's basically a Beetle it's cheap to work on and has never had major issues. I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a modern car after owning this...
I absolutely love love love wearing big loud things in my hair - feathers, buttons, lace, flowers, you name it - and WEDDINGS are a fabulous opportunities to do so. If you're a bride, you can make your own flower hairpiece - or make them for your bridesmaids or flower girls. Be creative and use materials that go with the style and/or colors of your wedding - I promise that it will add a fun flair to your wedding day! =) So - below are two that I made with pictures to show you each step. This post is also SUPER exciting for me because I'm leaving for HAITI in a few minutes for 5 weeks where I'll be teaching for the summer and one of the electives that I'm teaching is "how to make flower hair clips" - woohoo!!
For this one I started with two buttons, a metal hair clip, a bunch of feathers (already stuck together from Michaels) and lace. I wrapped the feathers with the lace, securing it with hot glue, and then attached the buttons on top.
Then I attached the metal clip to the back (and put a small piece of fabric over the top half of the clip) and viola!!
For this one I started with a silk flower, a few different types of feathers, a button and a metal clip.
I removed all of the plastic pieces from the silk flower so that I could sew through the fabric petals to hold the flower together. Then I sewed the button to attach it to the flower.
Finally, I used hot glue to attach the feathers to the back and then glued on the metal clip!

What is the mission of your organization?
Child Hope International is a Christian organization that exists to provide orphaned, abandoned and needy children with physical, educational, spiritual and personal care through homes, programs and ministries that are centered on the love and knowledge of Christ Jesus.
What inspired the creation of your organization?
A dream of a 9 year old girl! Arianna Manassero was sponsoring a child in Haiti through compassion international. One night she prayed to the Lord Jesus to help the children of Haiti. He gave her a vision to start an orphanage, school, hospital and church. In 2004, Ari's whole family sold everything and moved to Haiti! They began with a boys home, and now also have a girls home, medical clinic, and school! She is now 18 years old and serves full time at the orphanage teaching preschool and caring for the children. Isaiah 11:6
What are your organization’s specific needs?
We are always in need of prayer! The best way to financially support Child Hope is to become a child sponsor. Donations can also be made to our programs and specific needs. What are you looking forward to in 2010?
With 2010 beginning with a devastating 7.0 earthquake that has brought more trouble to an already troubled nation, we only have eyes to look forward. We are excited about our new school that we have jump-started beginning in Feb 2010. We are teaching in English and are seeing our children do very well. Camp-in-a-Box 2010 is coming up end of June. Camp is an incredible time for kids to get out of the average day to day of their lives at the orphanage and be loved on, encouraged, and spiritually built up! After Camp is our Summer Program. Kids will continue in school for the Summer in classes including English, French, Math, Science, Bible, and Electives. We also are very excited about all of the people with a vast variety of gifts and talents who are coming to serve in Haiti for short term service.

Here are just a few pictures of our nephews from the past couple of months! They are 6 months apart so it has been so much fun watching them both grow up and to see their own little personalities! We are so blessed that we live close to both of them so that way we can hang out with the often! We can't wait to see what kind of boys (and later men) they grow up to be!
